Elegant old Bridge

Nowadays we are use to something more modern and conformable, I mean most popular cities to visit because our friends or families have been there, and somehow we feel more safe to try something already tried, but the tastes are different and so, we never know what we are missing and what would be our favourite until we try it. There are so many places on the planet not discovered yet, and one of those is Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The old city with its ancient, elegant old Bridge Stari Most, which arches over the swirling Neretva River, provides this ancient town with its icon and name. The meaning of the Mostar is " keeper of the bridge". The rebuilt bridge, because was destroyed, designed by the renowned architect Sinan, was reopened on 22 July 2004 with fine words of reconciliation and hope.

The historic town developed in the 15th and 16th centuries as an Ottoman frontier town and during the Austro-Hungarian period in the 19th and 20th centuries. Very famous for its old Turkish houses and endless cafès, so many restaurants with an excellent food situated right beside the rocky riverbanks jostling for perfect views of the Old Bridge and its river. The city is an old monument full of history, and the remaining shells which still remains,others are gradually being brought back to life, giving the city the right edge.
