Have you ever seen an amazing mix of architectural miracles and gardens at the one place? If no, you should definitely visit Barcelona. Experience the rebirth of the spring in one of the top spots in the city - Park Güell. What is so special about this place? It was designed by the famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí and built in the years 1900 to 1914. In addition, it was recognized as a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Works of Antoni Gaudí". Discover this unique attraction.
The park was originally part of a commercially unsuccessful housing site, the idea of Count Eusebi Güell, whom the park was named after. It is said that Barcelona is all about Gaudi and the park its one of the most marvelvous one. The intention was to exploit the fresh air and beautiful views from the site, with sixty triangular lots being provided for luxury houses. However, only two of the, were built, neither designed by Gaudí. He bought one of them with his savings and moved in with his family and his father in 1906. Nowadays there is a museum in ex-house of Gaudi.
