Located on a plain rising gently from the sea to a range of wooded hills, Barcelona is Spain's most cosmopolitan city and one of the Mediterranean's busiest ports. Barcelona is a beautiful city full of culture and history, so if it’s some sight-seeing you’re after then this is the right place! There is no way you are going to get bored in Barcelona: the best concerts, exhibitions and events related to art, culture and leisure are waiting for you, throughout the entire year. Don't miss anything this amazing city has to offer.

Barcelona is most famous for the fantastical architecture of Antonio Gaudi, whose buildings are all around the centre of the city. The most famous and impressive can be seen along Passieg De Gracia where you will find La Pedrera and Casa Batlló . Or head to the Parc Guell which is a gorgeous parc designed by the man himself. But the real jewel in the crown of both Gaudi's work and of Barcelona itself must be the cathedral, La Sagrada Familia. One of the most stunning buildings in the world, the massive structure and its eight turrets reach to the skies despite not yet complete.

Barcelona, is much more than a Gaudi buildings. The Gothic Cathedral in the heart of the Gothic quarter is a must-see. Just wandering around Barcelona you will come across a feast of beautiful buildings, and also get off Las Ramblas. This is the focal point of the central city, where 1.5 million people currently live. The wide street, with a central walkway, is popular with tourists and as a result plenty of street performers can be found beneath the trees. Of course, if you want to enjoy yourself at the heart of the city you will need to be prepared to pay for it. The majority of restaurants and shops which line Las Ramblas are at the upper end of the price range.

The Barcelona Botanical Gardens - a perfectly green piece of this international city. So, if you're looking for a place of tranquility amongst the hustle and bustle of mainstream Barcelona, this proves to be a most relaxing and visually stimulating sight for sore eyes. The Picasso Museum should receive some of your attention as well, even if you are not fan of visual arts. However, If you want to understand Barcelona is important to understand Picaso. Free on Sunday so get there very early as the lines are usually very long.

Las Ramblas is definitely Barcelona's most famous thoroughfare is also a tourist attraction in itself! They have street performers there all day (live statues are amazing and original), every day and for something like 10 cents, they will do their little party trick for you. Plaza Catalunya (the end or the beginning of Ramblas): is always full of people and pigeons. whenever you need to feel live atmosphere feel free to go there. It is a meeting point for everyone from everywhere.
