See you under the stars
Nowadays, when the light is something we consider as normal, something that's there with no questions, we feel overwhelmed by the light, there is one day , one whole hour in the year, when we should pay attention and turn off the lights...Earth hour. It started back in 2007 in Sydney, to raise awareness about climate change. Today, there are 162 countries and territories all over the world, who follow, support and appreciate the event. This year it will happen on Saturday, at 8.30 PM local time in each country.
This light off event is asking cities, landmarks and business to turn their non-essential lights off for one hour and commit to reducing their environmental impact. It's to show everyone that the world's environmental issues don't have to overwhelm us, all to make this planet better for our present and future, for us and our children.
Back in 2007 in Sydney, more than 2.2 million people and 2 million businesses turned their lights off for the whole hour, to show their support for climate change action. Those were the little steps forward better world, planet and people living and respecting it. This year will be the ninth event held all over the world, be the one to make the change.
Earth hour is more than just another event,it's a global movement, that has succeeded to achieve a massive environmental impact. What kind of lights to turn off, it's up to every each of you, just keep the little lights for your safety, turn off televisions, radios, stuff we don't really need, and that will be a huge support already.
Each of you will make a commitment turning off the lights, it will be an enormous act they will undertake for the benefit of the planet, very appreciated and outstanding. Do not do this for others, do it for yourself and your children, for your better future on this planet. Earth Hour Blue! See you under the stars!
