Glasgow, urban mayhem and black humour

Cutting-edge style bars and world-class venues

It is the third largest city in the Uk and the largest in Scotland, a main economic and industrial hub, and has been nominated several times as the European City of Culture, City of Music, Capital of Sport and City of Architecture and Design. It has become in the latest years one of the most visited cities in the uk, offering its visitors great shopping possibilities, good parks and museums, and easy access to scottish highlands and islands.

Having its richest period on the 19th century, the city is full of victorian and edwardian architecture, with many buildings, churches and cathedrals with stunning facades and vibrant interior. Some of the are Glasgow Cathedral, a gothic styled church, having behind it the Necropolis cemetery; the City Chambers, with its halls and stairs; the Glasgow Cross, formerly the original city chambers, destroyed by fire on the 26's, with a clock tower and a small hexagonal building.

Glasgow has many amazing, and what is better, free museums. Some of them are the Burrell Collection, the Gallery of Modern Art, the Glasgow Police Museum, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, People’s Palace and Winter Gardens, the Riverside Museum, St. Mungo's Museum of Religious Life and Art, and the Transmission Gallery.

It is also the British city with the highest number of parks and green areas, so you can explore some of the amazing gardens, like the botanic garden and the Glasgow Green, the most famous of the city's parks. It has also the very interesting Fossil Groove, that is the remains of an ancient forest 330 million years old, being the unique of its kind in the world.

Check the nightlife and the music scene, that has been famous for more than 20 years, and will impress you with the numbers of events and live concerts happening every night. Give Glasgow a chance and it will conquer your heart!
