Berlin is the capital city of Germany with more than three million people. The most popular city for people who are heading to Germany. Berlin has a great history over the years before the war and after the war. These years before and after the war defines the way Berlin looks today.
The centre of Berlin was partly destroyed at the end of the war. When you visit Berlin today you will not see much from this destruction. Many building are rebuilt or totally destroyed to make a way for new buildings, squares and streets. On to the Church they build a new church hall and a new clock tower that makes it an interesting mix of old and new.

After the fall of the Berlin wall men took the challenge to make Berlin to one city again. By breaking down the Berlin wall there were many gaps in the city how needed to be filled up. The result is many places worth seeing like Potsdamer Platz. For anybody who likes to see beautiful buildings should visit the modern Berlin. The Sony Center, the 3 impressing buildings on the Gendarmenmarkt, the Rijksdag and of course many buildings and structures at Under der linden are definitely worth seeing.
That Berlin is really popular these days isn’t a surprise. The years off the Berlin wall was well political as physical an unique history fascinating young and old. That the people of Berlin had to live separated for years and the way the communists in that period ruled the east of Berlin interests many people today. In the DDR museum you can see how it was like to leave in the period of the democratic Republic Germany. Even more impressive is the Mauermuseum, where you can get to know everything about the Berlin wall, how people lived in this period and the attempts of people from east Germany to get over the wall to the free west Berlin.
Besides the fascinating history Berlin has a lot more to offer like culture, nightlife and shopping. Berlin is crowded with interesting hotels, offers a lot of opportunity to go shopping, lots of events, concerts, Performances and lots of other cultural outings. In the centre of Berlin there is always something to do. No wonder that every year millions of people travel to see Berlin. If you are planning a trip to Berlin you should plan at least three full days to visit the city. Three days will still be too short to really get to know Berlin but you will have enough time to see the biggest highlights of Berlin.
