There is no other city in the world as Tokyo, I'm sure everyone says that for each city they visit, most of them are different, but some really are similar, Tokyo is totally unique and easy flowing, iconic and full of amazing array of sights, it perfectly matches both, the modern and old world charm. even if it's your first visit to this metropolis, you will soon be enthralled by how fascinating and fun Tokyo really can be.
Tokyo is considered to be one of the world's most modern cities, Japanese living in the capital would kill for fashion and would wear anything that's with a label, they wouldn't really care about how good it looks together,so , passion for fashion.
Tokyo originally was called Edo it quickly grew from small castle town into powerful and giant metropolis that its is now, being world's most populous metropolis. The Izu and Ogasawara Islands are also a part of Tokyo. Shopping in this city will be one of the widest and the best you have ever seen, most of the shopping areas include well known names such as Akihabara, Ginza, Omotesando, Marunouchi and Odaiba. The entertainment will leave you speechless, it might even surprise you , diverse range from traditional attractions such as sumo, kabuki and bunraku to the latest musicals and shows, nightclubs for those ones willing to party and finest dining places.
Talking about the fashion and partying, there is one special event that brings out bout, every year, second Monday of January, that this year would fall on the 13th of January, Japanese celebrate Coming of Age Day , that is a national holiday! It's a day when young people dress their best clothes and go on partying, it's to encourage those who have newly entered adulthood to become self-reliant members of society.
For all the 20 year old, which is the age in Japan, when you legally become an adult, able to by anything and starting a new adult life.
They gain the right to vote on their twentieth birthday,allow to smoke, drink and to do all the things that adults are able to do, but Japan is a country of rules and people living in this society actually respect them, so the age 20 means something more, it comes with certain responsibilities.
On this day , males will be wearing suits and the females wear traditional furisode, which is a special type of kimono for unmarried women with extra-long sleeves and elaborate designs, so they are ready to enter in their adult society.
