Find Hostels all over the World
Boston Universitys favorite part
At 40 Berkeley we love our traditions - even if they are rather short. And due to the fantastic success of last year's Do-It-Yourself St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl, we have decided to do it all over again (yes we do have the best jobs in the world)! St. Patrick's Day is Sunday, March 17th and certainly one of the highlights of the year in Boston. The city really comes alive with everyone dressed from head to toe in green, enjoying the festivities, the parade and of course the beer. So, for all of you lucky St. Paddy revelers, we have put together the second Do-It-Yourself St.
Paddy's Day Pub Crawl! This year's crawl takes you through Boston University's favorite part of town - Allston Village! The Route: By T, take the Green B-Line train outbound to Harvard Ave. The first stop on the crawl is a half block away!
Start the day off right with a good ol' southern BBQ lunch. SoulFire serves up some great beers, and even better southern food! It's as close as you'll get to North Carolina home cookin' in Boston! My personal favorites are the pulled pork sandwiches with a side of mac n' cheese. Can't ever go wrong with those spare ribs either! Wash it all down with a tall boy or something yummy on tap.
Common Ground Serving up some of the best micro-brewed beers on tap, the Common Ground is one of Allston's hottest watering holes (and by "hot", I mean"cool"). This is a great place to try that obscure beer you've never heard of!
The Draft is one of Allston's favorite dive bars.. Not only do the drinks flow at bare minimum prices, but the outdoor patio in the back is a true gem in the city! Feel free to hang around for a game or two of pool. Deep Ellum For a classier twist on St. Patrick's Day, head to one of my favorite Allston spots - Deep Ellum. This narrow little bar sets up the perfect ambiance, and their menu of gourmet nibbles is to die for! Make sure to try their super unique 50's-style cocktails, or any of their micro-brew imports. This is another place with a super-chic outdoor patio in the back, so you may want to stick around for a bit!
This cool little dive is so "underground" it doesn't even have a website! Cheap pitchers and free dart boards make this spot a hipster's paradise. The laid-back "college game room" feel of the Sihouette makes it a great place to sober up over a game of darts before heading onto the next adventure!
White Horse Tavern
With floor-to-ceiling window, the White Horse is the perfect bar to sit down at and watch the shenanigans that pursue on the streets throughout the rest of your afternoon. White Horse is yet another bar with a fantastic beer garden out back (noticing a trend here?). It's a huge place with two separate bars inside, and it always promises to have a lively crowd! So, don your finest green clothes and help us celebrate St. Patrick's Day in style! Post your best "green" photos to our Facebook page, and you might just get an extra pot o'gold on your next visit!
