It's simply superlative country, with many "ist and est" characteristics, being hemisphere's highest, most isolated and most rugged nation, the earth's coldest, warmest, windiest and steamiest spots are located in Bolivia, driest, saltiest and swampiest natural landscapes in the world. That would be enough to make you travel there, still feeling the old life style which nowadays is so much appreciated and priceless.
Bolivia was named after the famous independence fighter Simon Bolivar, who broke away from Spanish rule back in 1825, so the country was named in his honour. Throughout its troubled three centuries of colonial history, Bolivia was known as "Upper Peru", and lost almost half its territory, a country that has survived a lot more than the others, and still, Bolivians are tired of being called as the poorest in South America.
Even if they have a great terms of natural resources. From jungle greenery to vast white salt plains to natural gas, petroleum, zinc, silver, iron, lead, gold and plenty of agriculture good. This country is rich of natural resources, most of which unfortunately are not discovered yet, or are produced in a very small scale, half of Bolivia is covered in forests.
Country's charm is indescribable, Bolivia's cultural diversity and ethnic make-up are equally fascinating. The country has it all, maybe been ruled by wrong people, but it has...bordered with Brazil ,Chile, Peru,Argentina and Paraguay on the south, from one of the parts even enclosed by two chains of the Andes, geographically is breathtaking and very diverse.
You will experience ice caped peaks, flamingos and coloured lagoons, the world wide famous Amazonian rainforests, it's all locked up by other countries, being right in the heart of South America. The country is simply amazing and worth visiting, it's astonishing wildlife and challenging yourself with jungle trek adventures, or just lie in the swimming pool enjoying the beautiful landscapes, that's the only missing, the beaches.
