Exhibition in Cape Town
The Body World & The Cycle of Life exhibition, established by Blue Ocean Exhibitionist and anatomist Dr Gunther von Hagens, has been already shown in more than 70 cities all over the world
This anatomical expo includes more than 200 exhibits, that is specimens preserved with the use of "plastination", a process preserving a human body invented by the author of the exhibition. The original ground-breaking exhibition shows the complexity, resilience and vulnerability of human organism through anatomical studies of the body in different phases.
Now the exhibition has its African premiere and is available for visitors in Cape Town at the V&A Waterfront from the 31 October 2012 till the 31 January 2012. The opening hours are 9.00 am - 7.30 pm. The exhibition is appropriate also for children, so you can easily introduce the body anatomy to your child. Tickets are available to purchase through the Internet.
The visitors of Body World & The Cycle of Life exhibition will witness the process of aging and will see its anatomy through time from the spark of conception to old age. Each pose of the plastinate is well considered and illustrate different anatomical feature, for example the use of muscle in the athletic pose, in order to serve educational aims. The exhibition has always been intriguing and irresistible to the public. It is offbeat and worthwhile way to know in how your body works.
