The Earth hour 2011

Thoughts with the people of Japan

This Saturday 26th of March at 8.30 PM the lights will switch off all around the world for Earth our. WWF ,
with almost 5 million people supporting and global Networks in more than 100 countries, is organizing the Earthy hour. There is a lot more than just switching the lights off for one hour each year. WWF’s mission is to stop the degradation of the Earth's natural environment, to build a better future for all of us, giving people a voice and working together to create a better future for our planet. , so we could live in harmony with nature. It's one of the worlds most respected independent conservation and the largest organizations.

The Earth hour has reached record participation, with 131 countries and territories registered to take part, thousands of cities, iconic landmarks and public figures set to join with hundreds of millions across the world to celebrate action for the planet. Seven continents with all countries, Earth hour has reached the record.

Last year Earth hour became the biggest hour ever with a record 128countries joined the global display of climate action. From Asia Pacific to Europe and Africa to the Americas all the landmarks and buildings switched off the lights to prove that we are all one, we have one common thing – a planet, no matter how fare we are from each other, how different we are, this hour made us feel as one. Switching off the lights back in 2010 was only the beginning, this year 2011 the Earth hour will ask people to commit to an action, no matter how big or small it will be – the people will sustain for our planet's future. The Hour marks the start of a new phase for the Earth Hour movement

It started back in 2007 in Australia – Sydney when they stood against the climate change- 2.2 million individuals and 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for one hour. One year later with more than 50million people in 35countries participated in turning off the lights for the Earth hour. Many famous global Oyun İndir
landmarks such as the Sydney Harbor Bridge, CN Tower in Toronto, Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and Rome’s Colosseum, stood in dark as symbols of hope for a cause that grows more urgent by the hour, making it he world’s largest global climate change initiative.

This year we want you to go beyond the hour, so after light go back on, think about what you can change in you daily life, what can you do to make a difference , that will benefit the planet. Just do it so our future will have a brighter tomorrow.

Our thoughts will be with the people of Japan during this challenging and sad time for their country.
